early Day 28 An apology to WI

Yesterday was a very long and exhausting day at the Capitol.  After closing I had about two hours of non-stop e-mails and messages to go through and after that I was absolutely about ready to drop.  And then my phone rang.  I took a call from Atlanta and agreed to do a phone interview with Mike Malloy which occurred about ten minutes later.  And I completely stunk it up.  He was asking me some very simple and basic questions and my brain just absolutely refused to lay along.
When asked about my plans, in regards to maintaining the hunger strike during what seems likely to be a lengthy appeals process of Walkers BRB in the courts, I stammered out some half-ineligible answer.  All the while the words were in my head ROLLING HUNGER STRIKE, ROLLING HUNGER STRIKE but somehow I just couldn't spit them out.
I made myself and the movement look bad to the national radio audience and that just stinks!  I shouldn't have agreed to do an interview when I was already pushed beyond my limits.  I apologize to Mike Malloy and all those who support the cause in Wisconsin and around the nation and world.  I dropped the ball and I strongly regret it.  If circumstances dictate that the hunger strike needs to go on past this coming Monday I believe I will refrain from doing any more live interviews.  Our cause is to important to be giving ammunition to the other side by my speaking out when I'm half incoherent.
Once again my apologies Wisconsin.
FORWARD !!!!

You don't owe us any apologies. You are a hero, Matthew. I am working on a post about you right now. You are taking the strongest stand for our cause. All Walker needs to do is dialogue, like a real human being, like AN ELECTED POLITICIAN should do with both sides of the aisle, esp. as governor. If you die, it will be on HIM. I am fighting for you from home right now, but I am fighting for you. Hang in there. Never, ever think you are not important, or that you have let us down. YOU ARE A HERO.

Keep up the good work - but do not let this get the better of you.
There are plenty of people in Wisconsin on your side. We need your spirit and courage - but do not let those impare your thought functions.
As for "Anonymous" - we can all see the courage of their convictions in the title they choose to snipe at you with.

You are a hero Matt, you have no reason to apologize. People know where you are at with your hunger strike, and anything that you have to say only adds to our devotion and support of you, never diminishes it. Please stay strong, stay healthy, and we love you!

Matthew,
You should take a bow for fighting for the cause and then go get something to eat.
The GOP has agreed that the law is not in effect pending further judicial review. That's a victory. Don't die when you can live to fight another day.
Sincerely,
Stacie Borrello

Matthew,

THANK YOU. And now you have done enough. Walker is not worth your life. Awareness has been raised. Let the rest of us help carry the flag from now on. We will need you for the BIG fight in November when we all gather together to recall that mad man.

Yes, please eat! You have shown everyone what courage and conviction are, and for now we have stopped the bill and have a great chance to defeat it! You want to be around to see this victory, right? Please take care of yourself now and continue the fight with us!

Matt, on behalf of the state of Wisconsin (whether they want me to or not) I apologize for not making more of what you are doing. We owe you so much and it seems that your efforts are glossed over. Please accept my apology, and as another poster noted, Walker is not worth your life. You are indeed a hero and if you feel you have let us down in any way, please be relieved of that feeling. We admire you and that you agreed to be interviewed when you had already pushed beyond your limits makes you an even bigger hero. Thanks again!

With the bill on hold, I hope you'll give yourself a break and nourish yourself. You deserve it!

I am sure there came a time for the WI 14, where they did not see how to end the stand off without it looking like they were done fighting When they came home they remained heros. You can change your 'gloves' and continue the fight! We are winning, stay in the fight by nurishing your body and staying stong We need you fightinig with us in November! Stopping the hunger strike is not quiting, it takes as much courage as it took to start it.
Stay with us on this fight

Matthew, please think about what you are doing. We at #wiunion are with you: Your resolve and strength are clear, your motivation inspiring. But Walker and his band of idiots are not worth your life and your health. We will win this one, and you need to be here to see it and how your contribution helped. Please, take care of yourself and give your body what it needs!

I just wanted to say I appreciate your conviction in this. I am showing solidarity and support for you by pledging to fast without food and water for 24 hours. This is not only to support you but to bring about awareness of the political policies that have victimized our people. I have posted on my facebook wall about you and how people can show their solidarity by passing your message along. Thank you for standing up for what is right and just! Your example of civil disobedience is inspiring!

Even if you stop now you have already made a huge difference in getting your message across. I have just told your story on my blog and also started a petition about you on Change.com. For everyone who signs my petition an e-mail will be sent to Gov. Walker.
Our thoughts are with you in this fight--It's time now to get your strength back and fight together with the rest of us on this cause and many others in the future.

Listened to the MM interview a couple of hours ago, and you didn't come across badly at all - I'm sorry that you think you did. Rather, you came across as weary, committed and surprisingly cogent considering your condition.

Very glad you've decided to eat. Your statement has been truly heroic, well done to you. Now take some good care of yourself and read up on the best way of ending heavy fasts.

No apologies brother, we should apologize to you , for us not being there with you and sharing your burden, which is/was tremendous and displaying your courage. If this action, unfortunately, is required again in the future and you choose to re-engage your fast, you will not be alone. Thank you for your brave and honest stand Matthew, you are a great inspiration and you will be blessed.

Matt, I just listened to the podcast of the 3/31/2011 Mike Malloy show, and I heard your telephone interview. You did not "stunk it up". I thought you sounded good, and very appropriate, considering your situation. Keep up the good work, and keep eating. This fight will last at least another year.
